Travel to home

25. + 26. October

On Friday  we had to wake up at 4.30. We packed the last things and said good bye to our friends with many tearns. We were so good friends. Now we see them mabye never more. But we write with them. We have all the nubers from them. at 6.00 we drove five hours to Johanesburg. In Johanesburg we meeted  Mr. Alder with his family and checked in. Our airplane flown at 14.35. The flight was eight hours long.l We watched films, ate and tried to sleep. In doha we had to wait 10 hours. We looked the shops, drunk coffees and played carts. It was very funny. The flight from Doha to Zurich was 5.30 hours. I couldn't sleep. At 2 o' clock we arrived in Zurich. We took our suitcases and said us good bye. We drove with the cars to home. It's beautiful to be at home. I sleeped in my own bed that was very nice. Tomorow start th school for us. We're going to see all our friends. I'm looking forward to see them. It was a very very good time in South Africa. I will never forgot this time.

 19. October

This weekend we had a lot of free time. On Saturday  we chilled in the boarding house and enjoyed the day. In the evening we went to the Alder family for dinner. The food was excellent. It was very funny. It was the birthday from Oliver, so they bought a big birthday cake. It was horrible it was a chocolate cake and Oliver doesn’t like chocolate. Mr. Alder didn’t know that. It was good for us, so we had more cake. :P It was a fantastic evening.

 20. October

On Sunday  we had free, too. In the morning we slept a lot and ate the big breakfast. It was so good. After that we went to the dam with a few students from the boarding house. There we swum, ate and chilled. It was very nice.  After dinner we had prep time and later we had to go sleep.

21. October

On Monday  we started the last week. The school become always easier. My favourite subjects here are Technology and Art. In the noon break we hadn’t stress. We ate faster, so we have more timeJ. In the afternoon we had sport. It rained a little bit, but not much. It was perfect weather. It was a good start in the last week.

22. October

On Tuesday morning it rained cat and dogs. It was very cold and it winded very much. It was very bad weather. We had the last lesson Art. L The school was very fast finish and in the afternoon we had free. 

23. October

Yesterday was de second last day here in the Southern Cross school. I looking forward to go home, but am sad, that we must go away from all this nice persons.  This morning came monkeys in the boarding house, when we were at school. The made a messy and ate the sweets from Salome. In the afternoon we had sport. Cornel show the students “Schwingen” on English Swiss wrestling.

24. October

Today was the last day here. In the morning we went to School and said our class good bye. In the afternoon we went to the town and bought the last things. It's realy sad, that we have to go tomorow. But we looking Forward to go home. It was a very nice time here. =)

Boarding House and other school

The second school week is now finish. The last days at school were very cool. We learned a lot and spoke with many students.

16. + 17. October

At Wednesday was a cupcake day. In the tea break we could buy cupcake. They spend the money for people with censer. The cupcake were very good.
In the boarding house we feel us like at home. The students in my room are so friendly. Now it's very normal that we haven't ceiling and doors.

18. October

Today we was in a regular school  for black people. We welcomed very friendly. Tey singed and danced. It was so beautiful. The children were so sweet. First we present them the Switzerland and the Appenzellerland. After we help them in the schoolgarden. The boys help to build a garden and the Girls help clean the garden. It was very cool. That.s Afrika!


       

Elephants, swimming and Kruger Park

11. October

On Friday we went elephant park. First we learned a lot about elephants and we could touch them and make photos. The elephants understand many English words. You can say sit down and the elephants sit down.   Do you know, that 2x the scope from the footprint, the height from the elephant is? I find it very interesting. After we ridden on the elephants. It was so beautiful. This moment I never going to forget.
After we drove over a mountain. There we ate in a little restaurant lunch. In the restaurant we saw Louis Sutter ( a friend from Herisau) and his family. It was a big surprise for us, because we didn't know, that he's in South Africa, too. In the afternoon we went to a big canyon and other beautiful places. There we saw wonderful panoramas and bought a lot of souvenirs. In the evening we were all very tired, but happy.

12. October

On Saturday we had free. In the morning we went to the town and bought a lot of things. It was very hot. It was plus minus 40 degrees. In the afternoon we went to the dam and swum there, with a few studets from the Southern Cross school. It was very nice.

13. October

On Sunday  we were in the Kruger Park.We had to stand up at 4:30, but it wasn't horrible. The Kruger Park is dabble as big as Switzerland. We drove with the school bus. It was so fantastic. We saw all of the big five. The big five are: leopard, Lion, rhino, buffalo, elephant. We saw hippo, nyalas, giraffe, and a lot of other animals, too. We had a super day. Many people go to the Kruger Park and see nothing. We had so luck, that we saw all of the big five.

 

14.+ 15. October

 The schooldays yesterday and today were very good. I like the school now. The days are every day shorter and better. I have now a lot of new friends here. I find it so good, that we in the morning break got toast with something. They are always so good.  At Tuesday we had craft. That’s a subject like art. We made carton lollipops for decoration. I learn every day new words. My dictionary is much bigger then before we came here. The evenings are always very funny. We speak about our school, this school, our village and a lot of other topics. The students in the boarding house are so nice and friendly.  Today we made our shoe boxes. That’s a project to give poor children a Christmas gift.  We had to put in a lot of things. I made it for a 4 years old girl =)

 8. Oktober

The school here is very hard, but i like it. We have a lot of different subjects to the school in Herisau. We have Technology (in this subnject we learn how we can draw a screb in the right height), African, Bush lore (here we make bush walks) and lot of other subjects. We found a lot of friends. They all so nice to us. It's so funny, when we learn them "Schweizerdeutsche" words. In the evening we always must make 1.5 hour homework. In this time it's quiter then in our LLs. Here we have everyday 10 lessons. That's two more then by us.

 7. October

A exercise from technology

Today we had the first school day with the other students. We had to wake up at 5:45. The school is very difficult then the school in Herisau. We had a lot of subjects: Technology, Social Science, Sport, Africans... The people here are all very nice and help  us always. The lessons are very interesting, but we must concentrate us very much to understand they. We could choose the sport that we do here. I had choose hight jump. It was very funny. I like that. In the break in the morning we get toasts with tomatoes and meat. It was very good, but in the noon break we had only 30 minutes to walk to the eating room, eat lunch, wear our sport dresses and walk back to the school. We had to eat very fast. But i like the school. The children they sleep in a room with me are so friendly to me.

Herisau I miss you a little bit. <3

Jessica das Flusspferd

 5. Oktober

Heute Morgen hatten wir eine Lektion Geschichte und eine Lektion Geographie. Es war sehr interessant. Danach hatten wir eine Lektion Lebenskunde bei Herr Alder. Nach dem Mittagessen gingen wir Jessica das Flusspferd besuchen. Das ist ein Flusspferd das wie ein Kind aufgezogen wurde und daher sehr zutraulich ist. Sie wird wie ein Kind behandelt und hat sogar eingenes Bett. Wir konnten es streicheln, fuettern und kuessen. Heute Abend gehen wir zu der Familie Alder grillen. Wir genissen den lezten Tag wo wir noch mit den Jungs in einem Haus sein duerfen und die Schueler noch nicht hier sind.

6. Oktober

Morgen haben wir eigentlich frei und koennen machen was wir wollen. Morgen kommen dann auch die afrikanischen Schueler und am Montag beginnt dann das richtige Schulleben.
